Best time to visit the Galapagos Islands

What is the best time to visit the Galapagos Islands? This is the most common questions!
The Galapagos Islands are a year round tourist destination, doesn’t really matter you want to come in March or july you will definitely enjoy our islands.

However it is also true that the peak of high season goes from December to February and from June to August, which, of course, coincides with holidays and vacations all around the world.
There is no worse or better time to visit the Galapagos islands, in fact being on the equator the temperature (air and water) doesn’t really change that much, but the two main seasons offer twi different visions of the same archipelago.

From December to May

This season corresponds to the hot season, with the main peak in February. Water and temperature heat up, apart from, infrequent showers, in general the sun shines and the sky is always clear.
During this season the scenario is revitalized and green.

From June to November
This season corresponds to the  cold and the Garua one.
Garua is a fine and costant rain, the air and the water cool down (needed wetsuite to get into the water), but despite what you may believe, this is the best season to make snorkeling because, thank to the currents, during these months the sea life is very active. During this season the scenario is a little bit spectral and gloomy, really impressive.

It’s not easy to recommend when to go to the Galapagos, the islands are all year round beautiful and plenty of life. The season is always the right one but let’s say that if you like spending time lying at the beach under the sun then the months from december till may are the right ones, if you want to experience the sea life and are not scared of cold (21 degrees) water then from June to November are the months!

You can go during winter or summer, the season is always the right one, Galapagos are unique 12 months per year!
